Montgomery Reef is a re-interpretation of our pea coat from around 1900. Although never made in period for ladies this is such a smart wardrobe essential it is a must have. The Reef Two Tone, shown here is a cross over and under fabric mixing black- and navy-coloured yarns. This a lightweight wool mix jacket, in keeping with today`s demands is made from fully recycled fabric. Made from repurposed old garments, spun into new yarn, and made into different fabric solutions, the Reef is very much an icon for today. Made in England since at least 1893, our Reef pea coat is a true Original, its provenance unquestioned. Originally made for the Royal Navy, the Reef jacket as it was known, offered protection and versatility. Our woman`s version is lighter and more elegant than the crude original and will become an icon. A British invention and style icon. Sizes XS-XL. One colour.
